Fish are one of the animals that live in water, as they have gills that halp them in the process of breathing Oxygen under water, and the most important thing that distinguishes fish is the large number of its species, as it is divided into more than thirty thousand species, according to shape, size, color and other defferent characteristics. There are very many forms of fish, we may find fish with a flat shape, and twisted fish that are closer in shape to worms, and other shapes, and fish also vary among themselves in terms of size to a very large degree, we find fish of very large size, and others are very small, but in a very large way. Generally the whale shark is the largest of all fish, its length may exceed 12 meters.
Fish are generally the most diverse group of vertebrates, with more than 32.000 species, the life cycle of fish passes through a number of stages :
- Fertilization stage, is depents on the type of fish breeding. The process of fertilization accurs internally in the female fish.
- Egg stage, the female fish lays many aggs but most of them die at the beginning of their life, as the female lays aggs in defferent places depending on type of fish.
- Puberty stage, the duration of reaching puberty varies from one type of fish to another.
Fish are characterized by the ability to adapt with different temperatures, its is noticeable that their body temperature varies with different places, and also varies with temperature of the water areas in which they live, and are vertebrates and aquatic animals as well, they are characterized by the ability to live in water permanently, and also by the presence of appendages on their bodies, and these appendages are known as fins, and they are among the organs that play an important role in achieving balance of fish in water and facilitating the process of swimming and swimming for them, fish can breathe from Oxygen that dissolves in water, through the gills, which are characterized by the presence of some capillaries in them.
