Some species, such as the milk-feeding algae moth, require certain host plants. Like all butterflies and moths the syntomeida epilais goes through a complete metamorphosis process, with four life cycle stages : Egg, larva, pupa and adult.
The syntomeida are hunted by some other animals like bats, and frogs and some birds. This insect has a pair of large compound eyes, with one eye on either side of the head, each of these eyes consists of many separate lenses that capture an integrated image of only part of the syntomeida surroundings.
The compound eyes are specially adapted to help the insect identify moving objects such as an incoming enemy. The full-fledged syntomeida has three pairs of legs, each consisting of five pieces connected by joints, and there are tast organs at the tip of each leg.
