The oleander plant

    It is a fast-growing evergreen shrub that is hardy and somewhat low-maintenance, producing fragrant, showy clusters of flowers and coming in several different types of colors, oleander is usually grown as a landscape perennial ornamental in warm climates but can also function as a container plant for sunny roofs, it is adaptable to many unfavorable conditions, including drought, urban heat, salty air and poor soil and can be planted in spring or fall.

 

    The oleander plant is considered a poisonous shrub, although it is used for ornamental purposes. It is an ancient plant dating back to the tenth to filteenth centuries, this plant appeared in the botanical gardens of Toledo and Séville, specifically during the period (the eleventh century), and was prominently present in Andalusian gardens. The oleander leaves are lanceolate, opposite, evergreen and bluish, 10 to 15 cm long with a short neck, this plant blooms from September to March, but it can  bloom all year round and its spreads in deep valleys of rocky or gravel nature or mountainous areas, and the "oleander" plant is planted abundantly on roadsides. Oleander plant has many benefits, it is used in treat scabies, itching and melasma and leprosy also it is used to strengthen the heart muscle and regulate its rhythm. 

The juice of oleander leaves after diluting it with water is used as a medcine for itching, also it is used to kill lice by mixing the juice of oleander leaves with the same amount of vinegar to kill and used to kill mice and that juice used to stop nosebleeds by boiling oleander leaves and mixing it with glycerin and used as a gargle to strengthen teeth and gums. This plant is helps diabetic patients, its prevent cardiomyopathy in diabetic patients.
